Feline Rescuers
HCN’s mission is to promote humane solutions for the community cat population on the Peninsula, and our feline rescuers are vital to that goal. Rescuers use humane traps to catch adult cats and kittens living on the streets. Adult cats are taken in their traps to a clinic where they are altered, microchipped, and vaccinated. After a brief recovery in a sheltered place, the cats are returned to their home territory. Adoptable kittens and cats are placed in foster homes.
Many volunteers team up to share the work of trapping, transport, and recovery. Spaying/neutering just one cat makes a huge difference, as does rescuing kitties that deserve a chance to be adopted into a loving home!
HCN needs rescuers in all areas of the Peninsula! Please join our team and know you're making an enormous impact. Training and equipment is provided, and all spay/neuter expenses are paid for by HCN.
